2009 Magnolia Bowl
Kickoff for the Magnolia Bowl is 2:30 PM on Saturday afternoon! The next two games will determine the true worth of our 2009 Tigers. Win at Oxford and take care of business the following Saturday in Death Valley and we go to a top Jan. bowl. Lose one of the two and the Cotton Bowl may be on the horizon. Fail to show up and suffer 2 losses and our 8-4 Tigers will get a lower level bowl as consolation.
This is not what they have strived for with the turnaround from last year and even though we're 3 1/2 points underdogs at Oxford, this band of Bengals have risen to the occasion time and time again. The only blemishes on their record had questionable calls (or non-calls) attached and the stakes are too high not to elevate to the level of their potential. Both Sherlock's and Fox & Hound will be packed so plan to get there by 2 PM for good seats. Wear gold and bring your loudest voice. We will be heard!
Thanks also to the many new email listings that we have added to our growing database this year. As we reach more and more alums and staunch fans of LSU, our passion for LSU is rubbing off on more and more families. Students who had not considered LSU for their next degree are now applying in record numbers from Texas and it's attributed greatly to the enthusiasm and support of all in the DFW area. If you are new to the area, check out our website regularly for update information of LSU and LA happenings. If you have not entered your email, you can do so on our home page and we'll keep you up to snuff on our chapter's events. We welcome your membership in our Dallas chapter and you can apply by using the membership link also on the home page. 80% of your $25 annual dues goes directly to scholarships with LSUAA and since 1/1/09, we have contributed over $6500 from memberships alone. Your support is needed! Can you think of a better win-win than a membership that pays you discounts and scholarships for DFW students at the same time?
Thanks also for the support you've given us with our Texas Tiger Tees, another scholarship project. We currently have all sizes in stock and can ship them to wherever you desire by clicking on the icon on our website. These make great Christmas gifts and that's right around the corner.
Lastly, don't forget about the SEC Mixer being hosted by Auburn TONIGHT 11/19/09 at Wizard's Sports Cafe. In addition to having a great time with fellow SEC Fans, there will be a canned food drive to help support the North Texas Food Bank. Wear your LSU colors, bring some canned food, and have a great time!
