Can you already hear the Golden Band From Tigerland playing Pregame? Does it give you goose bumps? Football Season 2010 has finally arrived! Saturday night at 7 PM, our 2010 LSU Tigers will open the season in Atlanta against North Carolina as we begin a very important season for the football program at LSU. Never has so many top ranked recruiting classes been assembled at LSU and the pressure is on to produce and we mean this year! As a 2 point favorite, our Tigers march into the Dome with heads high and optimism brimming as they did in Seattle last year. And while we can't all be at the game, we can join together at 4 watch party locations.
For this year's football season, we've added 2 new locations to make it easier to find an LSU crowd close to you. In addition to our 2 original watch locations, Sherlock's and Fox & Hound, we added Press Box Grill downtown and Dodie's Cajun Restaurant in Frisco. Each will offer membership discounts of 20% off meals year around as well as drink specials for Dallas chapter members. For more information and maps, visit our site at www.lsualumnidallas.com. To kick off the season, we are having our Annual Kick Off Parties at each of our watch locations again this year! There will be door prizes, gift baskets, and a number of giveaways, including shirts, gift cards from various retailers, and even some Purple and Gold LAmingeauxs© from our sponsors. At Dodie's in Frisco, two tickets to Mississippi State game will be auctioned off (our home opener this year!). Be sure to join us for the fun at 7:00 on Saturday! Come early to get a seat!

This fall saw the largest number of students from DFW enroll in Baton Rouge, a 33% increase over the previous record. And much can be attributed to the recruiting that our alums have done during HS Recruitment Nights at local schools in the DFW area. The schedule for this fall begins on Sept. 13 and can be found on the High School Relations page of our website along with a note from Linda Young, our Scholarship Chair. Your assistance in helping to fill these vacancies makes the job of our LSU Recruiter and Linda much easier as well as a greater impression for students and their parents. So check out the dates and contact Linda of your availability. Let's set another record next fall as well and contribute even more to raising the SAT scores on incoming freshmen, another asset to Tier 1 status!
