Kickoff Party!
Kick Off/Happy Hour Party this Wednesday at Sherlock's and Volunteers Needed! Let's start the season off right with our annual August Kickoff Party at Sherlock's on Wednesday, Aug. 11th at 6 PM. Less than 4 weeks before the opening game against North Carolina and I know you are chompin' at the bit as much as we are. Let's get together and plan on how we can make this the best watch party scene Dallas has ever had. Invite your friends who may not know about our Dallas chapter so come see the LSU faithful that help set the mood for Sat. night football. With 3 great locations throughout the Dallas area, there's a location near to most everyone. Come join us Wed.
And with the expansion of our chapter, comes the need for more participation , aka volunteers! When many work to each contribute a little, it transforms into much success. And you can be a part of it. We currently have several spots on the Board due to relocation , retirement, etc. so if you want to see things done right, come participate in the organization and implementation of new ideas. We have several spots where you can work with different coordinators to expand their responsibility. Linda Young, our scholarship chair, could use an assistant to work with LSUAA and the LSU Foundation regarding our scholarships. She also could use help in coordinating our ever growing high school recruiting calendar which will be posted next month on our website. Contact Linda at scholarship@lsualumnidallas.
Bob Brown, our Treasurer, could use an assistance treasurer who, using information provided by the Treasurer from Quicken or QuickBooks, can prepare the Form 990 for IRS filing. Barry Willett, our Webmaster, needs assistance in keeping the site up to date and sending periodic emails. Our Crawfish Boil has grown and now requires chairmen for a number of duties: Silent Auction that works with Sponsorship Chair; Decoration Committee; Key Managers for servings of crawfish, jambalaya, and kids meals as well as beer service at 2 locations. Each need lots of helpers so let us know where you'd like to assist. Time periods are usually less than 90 minutes during the boil. And April 2nd will be here before you know it.
Most importantly, we need helpers manning our 3 watch party locations during the season. Key time is the hour leading up to the kickoff and during halftime. If enough assist, everyone gets to watch the game without interruption. You wanted more locations so plan to give your time in making them better.
