Membership Update - 4/22/09

WOW!!! A new record by 20% from our 2008 high! Over 750 of us enjoyed 3700# of crawfish, 90 servings of Jambalaya and 30 kegs of beer last Saturday. About $1,000 in Texas Tiger tee shirt sales and $5,700 from silent auction proceeds will go straight to our scholarship fund. (Speaking of the silent auction, we appreciate the interest that everyone exhibited regarding the pair of game tickets for each home game and plan to continue that tradition annually. One of the bid sheets that is missing from our auction was the one for the UL-L game. If you picked up the sheet by accident, please contact us so that we can get the information of where to mail the tickets.)

Final proceeds are being determined and will be announced in next week's final 2008-2009 update. We also want to apologize for the delay in getting both taps running on a timely basis. Both Andrews Distributing and their caterer, Hot Shots, are now operating under new guidelines from TABC that have only been in place since the first of March and equipment malfunctions occasionally occur. What most were not aware of was that the crawfish caterer had a malfunction of the pilot light on one of their boilers also and like th beer caterer, scrambled to make up for it. We appreciate your patience. A special thnak you goes out to the many volunteers who helped make our CB such a rousing success. We couldn't have done it without you!

For those of you who haven't got enough crawfish enjoyment yet or who were unable to attend last Sat. due to scheduling conflicts, our sister chapter, Tarrant Tigers, will be holding their annual crawfish boil this coming Sat., 4/25. The Ourso School of Business will be holding a DFW alumni reception on Thursday, April 30th at the Park Cities Club, 5956 Sherry Lane, Suite 1700, from 6:30-9:00 PM. Special guest will be Dean Eli Jones and will feature great food music and giveaway prizes. Reservations are requested and you can find out more and reserve by clicking onto Thursday, April 30th on Geauxings On also. LSU's ranking of Top Tier University requires pillars for that justification and the School of Business is one of those foundations. Come out to network with one another and get to know staff, faculty and administration from the college.

Lastly, TDoT informed me that as of Monday, 4/20, we are only 210 plates short of our 1900 goal. Your support has been fantastic and everyone who I have heard from has been braggin' up a storm about the responses they have gotten with our new LSU plates. Come join us if you haven't yet.
