Friday night at 6 PM, our LSU Tigers start the second leg of the Road to Omaha. With the regional championship under their belts, they entertain the Rice Owls at Alex Box Stadium in one of the 8 Super Regionals being played this weekend. While the success of LSU over Rice in regional play has not been stellar, this year's match up seems to favor the Tigers. It'll take a super effort to reach the third and final leg to our June "home away from home," Omaha, and you can help us pull them through to victory.

Both games Friday night and Saturday afternoon, at 4 PM, will be shown at Sherlock's and Fox & Hound. Plan to join with us and cheer the Tigers on. (You notice I didn't say anything about the third game which I don't believe will be necessary!) Let's have a football like turnout this weekend at both locations. We'll look forward to seeing you there.

Mission Accomplished!That was the answer given by Tammy Belk of TDot when I inquired about the status of our LSU plates. Our first order arrived on August 2nd last year and 10 months to the date, June 2nd, we exceeded our 1900 quota as we ended the day with 1901 orders. We not only became the first out of state university to be selected for Texas specialty plates but also have set a performance record for quota sales that may never be duplicated much less exceeded! To all of you who shared in this campaign by your purchases or enthusiasm in encouraging others to be a part of this historic achievement, we can never thank you enough! It's the spirit and passion of LSU alumni and fans that drives us to be proud when we lift our voices and shout,        "L S U! Tigers!"

For those who have not purchased your plates, both the Dallas and Houston websites will maintain the link to the TDoT on line ordering system. Our next goal is legislate a change in the state statute that prohibits rebate funds going to out of state schools for scholarships off the renewals of the Texas specialty plates. But when this law was established, there were no out of state specialty plates and we have charted new ground. The greater the volume of sales, the more impact we'll have in creating a change. 

Summer Happy Hour Dates- Wed., June 24th, Nate's Seafood, 14951 Midway Rd, Addison: Wed., July 22nd, Sherlock's, Park Lane and Cntral Xpressway; and Wed., Aug. 5th, Fox & Hound, Midawy and George Bush, N Dallas. All begin at 6PM. As we mentioned previously, we'll auction off the Les Miles autographed football and 2 game tickets to 3 home games at Sherlock's and a pair of game tickets for the 4 remaning home games at Fox & Hound. This will be a great time to keep up with one another between Omaha and U. of Washington on Sept. 5th. 

Mark your 2010 calender- April 17, 2010.That's the date for next year's 31st Annual Crawfish Boil at Double D Ranch in Mesquite. This year's boil was not only our largest ever but also served as a trainer for future boils with a new location and over 800 in attendance. Our goal for next year is to exceed 1000 so start spreading the news that you want your friends to join with you on that date and pass a good time!
