Membership Update - 6/22/09

Tigers vs longhorns in CWS Finals! (No, that's not a misprint- I refuse to equate LSU's opponents with our Tigers.) Tonight at 6 PM begins the best-of-3 series for the College World Series where a National Championship will be determined. Will it be texas, the NCAA No. 1 seed, or our LSU Tigers, the No. 1 ranked team in the country in both polls? One of those polls is voted by the coaches themselves and I've always subscribed to their knowing talent better than those in the cubicles at NCAA headquaters.

We've watched our Tigers put together another winning streak and their quality of play and consistency couldn't have come at a better time. The time to peak in at the end of the season and that seems to be exactly what is taking place in Omaha, our summer "home away from home!" As was said in the update leading up to the start of the CWS, this is the final chapter of our 2009 Road to Omaha chronicle.

Plan on sharing the excitement with other LSU faithful this week as all games will be telecast on the large screens at Sherlock's and Fox & Hound. One of our new email recipients wrote that she could sit at home and watch the games or she could join with others who share her passion and attend one of our watch locations and enjoy them en masse! You can too! No more afternoon games to contend with. This is prime time each evening and ESPN couldn't be more excited about the match up. Are you ready? Let's take the next two from texas and celebrate the 6th National Baseball Championship together. Come on down and let's pull the Tigers on to another victory.

With our Happy Hour scheduled for Wed. evening at Nate's in Addison, we'll send out an email blast Wed. depending on the need for a third game. So watch your email and if the championship has been won by Tuesday night, plan to be with us at 6 PM on Wed. at Nates on Midway Rd. in Addison for our 1st of 3 Happy Hours this summer.
