Membership Update 7/19/09

With less than 50 days before the 2009 LSU Football Season takes flight, we have an abundance of events prior to the 9:30 kickoff on 9/5. Check the Upcoming Events on the home page of our website, www.lsualumnidallas.com, today and regularly for information on current and upcoming events involving our Dallas LSU Alumni Chapter.

Start off by joining us on Wednesday, July 22nd, at Sherlock's for our 2nd Happy Hour of the summer. You'll want to bid on the autographed football signed by Les Miles along with the pair of game tickets for the 1st three games in Death Valley. Remember- all proceeds go toward our scholarship fund and in amt. above the ticket value is tax deductible.

The following week on Tuesday and Thursday has both Dallas and Tarrant hosting the Annual Freshmen Send- Off Parties. Both dates and times are listed on Upcoming Events on our home page. Our good friends and watch party hosts, Sherlock's , have offered to provide the food for each. When you're at Sherlock's each of the next 2 weeks, tell them how much you appreciate their generous support.

The month of August has us at our north watch party hosts, Fox & Hound, on Wednesday, August 5th for our 3rd Happy Hour where we'll auction off the pair of tickets for the last 4 home games and again on Thursday, Aug. 20th, where we'll host the SEC Football Kick Off Mixer from 6:30 PM -9:00 PM. Our SEC Mixers are growing monthly and the spirit of the "Biggest 12" is growing daily. Come join us and meet friends of the SEC from other alumni chapters. You'll be glad you did.

Almost 200 of our 550 members have renewed their membership this year. Your $25 dues are an investment in the future of DFW students as we donate 80% of your dues to LSUAA Top 100 Scholarships. Have you ever thought how easy that is to donate back to LSU and at the same time, keep your membership current? As we continue to grow the 4th Top 100 Scholarship, we need the help of all of us to complete it in a 2 year time period. Your dues are the most critical contribution toward that end. You can take care of that at Wed's. Happy Hour or if you're not able to attend, go on line to our website and click the membership link. Our goal is 600 members this year and over $10,000 toward our $40,000 requirement from membership alone. Your support is vital!
